Windows Server is a brand name for server operating systems released by Microsoft Corporation. It's the IT kernel of a large range of companies around the the world having a network with applications like MS SQL Server (databases), MS Exchange (mails) or MS Office Server (office automation) and a lot of others applications. It exists a lot of different versions of a same MS Windows Server release following the size of the company and the specialization of the server (dedicated to a special task).
